Hi, does anyone know why the water fill in my Speed Queen top loader doesn't stop when it has reached the level for the wash size?

So far I have checked the:

pressure switch - diaphragm seems in working order
pressure hose - no apparent holes, builds up pressure if removed and tested in isolation
mixing valve - water does not continue to flow if power is switched off, strainer removed and cleaned

Does the mechanical timer play a role and could this prevent the water fill from stopping if faulty?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

First question, does it stop filling when you unplug it?

If it doesn’t stop filling when you unplug it you have a bad inlet valve beyond that you probably have a bad pressure switch unless you have a leak in the air don tubing that goes from the outer tub to the pressure switch or a clog in that tube.
