How efficient is this machine? Still a lot of launderettes in my home city, that have spin-drain machines. Made by Zanussi and badged as REX. Was the Indesit brand mixed with these other makes?

Rolls/Colston/Ariston

Someone mentioned earlier if anyone had seen a Rolls twin tub. Well, I haven't but my mum and bubbie used to have a Colston, and this is the nearest on Youtube I can think of. Great machine though.

Very Efficient me thinks

just as this Phillips is, this is probably better as it spins faster at 800rpm!!! It would certainly force the water through the clothes for rinsing...why do you think one of the reasons was the UK kept their twinnies so long..."Because they spin flung the hot soapy water (and Dirt) out of the clothes!!!

Son of a B! That was shocking. I have never heard anything like that before.

I have an ARGO 33 1/3 recording (that is older than you are) of Simon Preston playing the Ad nos on the Hull City Hall organ. It is said to be the most comprehensive organ in the U.K.

Yeah I saw that Philips spin-drain washer a few days ago on Youtube. Reminds me of the old Allander (Creda I think) washer, for looks. I remember when Philips teamed up with Whirlpool in the 90's and built an auto, although didn't have spin-drain, it had a very "non nonsense" action, and straight to spin without faffing about with distribution. Would love to see a Philips twinny in action...If anyone has one. Tomturbo, the Hull City Hall organ (Foster & Andrews) isn't all that, the one in the Holy Trinity Church is more impressive! Lol. Link below is of a Zanussi-REX machine, with it's famous spin drain, although I'll have to get off my behind and get a full cycle from one of these babys.

The no nonsense method of laundromat machines is very appealing! My mothers 1980's Bendix didn't spin drain but didn't spend 10 mins distributing it drained as it tumbled and then started spinning. As for that twinnie, I would love one of those! You could tear through a weeks laundry in no time. Someone mentioned a PHilips twinnie? My mum had a Philips Top Twin DeLuxe, my dream machine!! I reckon they are as rare as hens teeth though.
