This little beauty greeted me in the kitchen while I was there to work on a A606. Another co. was attempting repair of the surface light. If the pics are a little off, I was using my iPad to take them.

Now, the PROBLEM....

Other co. was called to fix the surface light. The switch appered to be defective. They (the other co.) were having issues locating another and tried to wire in a replacement. This led to removing the light and two sockets in an attemp to rewire now with the possibility of trying to mount some undercounter thing instead. This, if I understand things correctly, led to damaging one of the light sockets and messing up some porcelain. She really wants to save the range with original parts if possible. Anyone have leads or suggestions?

HMMM!

Well, I wish I new of a parts source, Norge parts are NOT easily found, For instance, look at the thermostat, it is a Hart brand,I never did find one for the 47 Norge I had.

I'm surprised a socket couldn't be harvested from another florescent fixture and be adapted to fit.  It might require a junk store outing to find and older one that lends itself to disassembling -- or maybe you have one at the shop you can use as a donor.

How is the new switch different from the one it replaced?  Was the previous switch not a push button?  It seems to me like a switch would be somewhat universal in nature and replacing it shouldn't have damaged the porcelain, which is really too bad.

That is a beautiful stove and I'm glad the owner is dedicated to keeping it viable and as original as possible.
