I suppose if the machine uses steam and detergents that could destroy bacteria, viruses, and chemicals they probably could be used for dishes for food-but could the food dishes withstand the possibly higher temp in such a machine-wonder if the machine is connected to the lab or hospital steam supply. Its like the fridges-you would want to aviod any possibility of food and chemical, bacteria being mixed.I would stick to using the labware washer for-labware.the lab lunchroom kitchen probably has a dishwasher for the employee eating utensils-not for labware.I suppose if the machine is been removed from the lab and sold-then you could use it for dishes.I would flush it out good to make sure.
