Stove Shocker

I've seen these Tappan Doughboy ranges on ebay before, but never seen them go for this much money! Perhaps it can be attributed to the fact that it is a charity-auction, as well as a very nice range, but wow!

Isn't that something? I had this on my watch list and cannot figure out why this brought that amount. It is a very nice stove,however these usually go for a few hundred bucks. Never saw one over $1000.00

exactly like the stove my paternal grandmother had.....in fact the more I look at it the more I know it is. Alas....if i would have only knew......

This is not a popular stove, although it is nice. Never seen one at that price either.

They were wonderful ranges for gas stoves, especially the TOL with the glass insets in the rear burner grates for small pans and the way the rings around the burner valves lit up when they were turned on, like old WH range controls and some new Jennair controls. I think the big thing here was that all but maybe a hundred and something dollars could be written off as a donation to a charitable institution.

Believe it was a tie-in with Pillsbury.
