Not strange at all, DARLING!

That is the RR-700, and I have had one since May 1986. Two minor repairs, and still going strong.

It's been the easiest microwave I have ever used, and when I was a private duty (party) cook, I used a lot of them.

If it were closer, I'd buy it, but it is too far away, and would cost a lot to ship, because it is a real Radarange, and about 80 pounds +/-

My childhood Amana - mom bought it new in the Spring of '84 from Smitty's Tire and Appliance in Cedar Falls.

It lasted till around 1993 or so. Was replaced with an all white GE SpaceMaker II that is miraculously still around to this day.

The RR-700 is a true workhouse with late 70's internals along with the newer styling that only lasted a few years.

Great RR but $50's a little steep.

A couple neat things about this model- the 'cook time' knob will go round and round letting you dial in an exact amount of time on the digital display. The 'power level' knob is a potentiometer and with the twist of the wrist lets you set the amount of power analogously with a digital bar on the display.

Simple in looks but extremely effective in interface!
