Strange whirlpool washer

Hello to all aw members,

Have you ever seen a direct drive whirlpool washer with a side opening lid like the kenmore direct drive washer unless it was a repair and that the only part fitting was a kenmore washer top with side opening lid here is the picture and the link

It's a Kenmore cabinet.

Put on a WP washer. The original one most likely rusted or got banged up.

Whats with the color coded control panels-never seen that.

Back in the 90s, the Whirlpool Corp. was right on the money when it came to fabric care. The color codes are there to help the user select the correct wash and rinse temperatures,agitation and spin speeds,and cycle/program time. It was yet another gimmick used yo step customers up to. a more "DeLuxe" model. It looked nice together with its matching dryer. We had them on display Incredible Universe. The washer was $449. The dryer was $399 gas models available for $50 more.

I like that color-coded design... Whirlpool still tries to use it (and backed-by Good Housekeeping, Seal-of-Approval) on their laundry machines, today...!

Colour coded

I have one of those machines with the colour coded panel on. Of course mine has the standard lid fitting.

I believe these color-coded models were referred to by Whirlpool as "Cycle-Logic" machines.
