I'm trying to get some things sorted out around here (like why my camera won't export pics) but I am stumped by my DE806 dryer. It's a Halo of Heat and the big drum-drive pulley is stuck on the shaft. I've tried soaking it with liquid wrench, whacking it with a hammer, cursing at it, and a few other things all to no avail. Melvin suggested a pulley puller, but do any of you know where to find one that can get around the big drum drive pulley? It's about 11 inches across.

If any of you have thoughts, I would be grateful,
Dave

STCCK DRUM PULLEY

Hi Dave I assume the bolt in the hub came out OK the pulley is steel as suggested I would try heating the hub with a propane torch possibly to the point of burning the paint a little it should come off at that point grabbing and twisting it back and forth, wear gloves.

Torch.

I do have a propane torch which I use to sweat copper plumbing. I have never used a torch to heat metal to make it expand and free itself from anything. Where do I point the flame, how long should I heat it given that the Maytag gray paint is thin, and should I expect to hear a pop or any other noises?

Thanks,
Dave
