Some more new finds. First, the Suck.
This is the Sunbeam that's very close to the one I really want. Also, the one I can't find bags for! It's in just beautiful shape. Nice 'n clean.

Veg-O-Matic:I have one of those Sunbeam "Broom Vacs" like what you show.got it from the vac shop here in town. Was one of those left over "30 days" from a repair.I don't use it because I can't get bags for it.Bill (the vac shop operator) didn't know either. Can't find bag or part listings for it in HESCO or ESSECO catalogs. Its an interesting machine.Has lots of air movement. The bag that was in it was full and ROTTED".Threw it out-couldn't get a # off it.

If you're going to make curtains

for a vintage kitchen, you have to cut the cloth with some vintage scissors.
Sears Best, no less. Three speeds, no waiting.
For those of us who like to Live Better Electrically

cut, suck and sew...

This title reminds me of a kind of funny story. I was vacuuming around the back rooms at work, and I was in the middle of using the 2 speed red Tri-Star in the sewing machine repair room when I stopped to eat. Then the sewing machine guy came and him and my boss were talking about the newest repairs in, while me and Bob ate. The sewing machine guy walked into the room, "whats this machine" (talking about some sewing machine). Bob(to me),"its a vacuum, duh!" Me,"no, its the new singer suck and sew." He just about choked on what he was eating.

I Dream of Genie

No, not Jeannie. This one.
Don't need it, already have two machines. Just like the style. And you gotta love the Flower Power daisies. Could have come right out of Pete's latest catalog!

What a great sewing machine. Bet it sews like a dream. I wish I learned how to sew on one of those babies. One of the last good Singers. Too bad a company with such a rich history has turned into a company that puts out such a cheap product and gets sold every few years. We had a pair of those electric scissors, let me just say that they make a great conversation piece. Cool things, thank you for sharing the pics.

re the Sunbeam vac, is there not something close that would fit the vac, or be made to fit it? Put your thinkin caps on.

Rex--is yours the blue one? That's the one I really wanted. Might we have a pic?

Pete, I guess I could use the electric scissors to cut some cloth and then use the Genie to sew a cloth bag for the Sunbeam, huh? Kinda bring the whole thing around full circle, ya know?

I know this used a bag that looked like a small Eureka F&G type bag. Making a bag moight not be too bad of a idea, a Hoover type C bag could also work, but this would let dirt back down into the fan chamber.

Veg-O-Matic-Have to look for mine-I beleive its just like yours-I will get it out of hiding and see.Have it in one of my storerrooms. Don't have a camera. At some point will have to get one.As far as bags went for it-think at one time I was playing around with using a Royal "B" upright bag in mine-had to do a lot of "Chinese Paper" folding to get it into the vacs bag compartment. If you have any Royal "B" upright bags-you could play around with those-or ones with a similar opening. The Sunbeam vac I have runs OK.
