I am glad to say that I just bought a KitchenAid Superba garbage disposer (Hobart), mint, for $25. Thank you, Cape Codders, for remodeling your summer home. Does anyone have the installation guide handy to share? I am not quite sure what way the mounting collar should go. These disposers are the best: quiet and powerful, with a cast iron grind table. It's a shame they are no longer made. Bye Bye In-Sink-Erator!

That disposal was still made as recently as last year under the Viking name. Try their website for downloadable manual, that may help.
Happy Garbage disposing!

Thanks, Jeff.
A local appliance dealer told me that Viking was no longer making disposers, but this doesn't seem to be the case, according to the website. I couldn't find any info on installation manuals. I will call them.

Hi Bobby

If is is an older model, I have the original booklet. I could make copies for you if you wish. Is your model mostly silver with the dark base. Does it have a "Wham Jam" breaker button?

Varicyclevoice,
What you describe is my model. I have the Wham Jam breaker, and it is made by Hobart. I would LOVE a copy of the install manual. If you have it, I'll send my address. Many thanks.

Todd,
That's the disposer. Can't wait to hook it up! Thank you so much for your help. We had an Imperial continuous feed in NY and it was the very best, so quiet you would forget it was on!
