It seems the christianist monsters have failed yet again in their attempt to destroy normal human sexuality.
Perhaps he will now have the courage to finally apologize for the monstrosities he, together with these horrible, filthy, disgusting Lebensformen have committed.

I told Tiberius not to leave the lions out overnight they'd catch their death of cold. But would he listen???

 
Of course they've failed and they will always fail. Sullivan has the right idea. Haggard should try and reason with evangelical leadership in an attempt to stop the hate-focused preaching and get back to what religion is supposed to be about. Mr. Sullivan is such a cute bear, who wouldn't want to do exactly as he requests? Maybe HE should try and reason with the preachers. If they don't leap on him first!
 
This Is Not Easy...

I have to say that I feel some compassion for Haggard, because he is seeing first-hand how damaging it is to deny one's true nature. Worse, he's having to make his discoveries in the public eye. Certainly, he cast the first stone, but that makes the return volley of rocks no less painful.

I personally wish this guy peace, and self-realisation, and the courage to use his new awareness to undo some of the damage he did while in denial.

Sullivan is kinda cute, and very married. I don't agree with him politically very often, but he makes me think.

That's one of the things I meant when I said that I hoped Haggard would have "the courage to use his new awareness to undo some of the damage he did while in denial".

I'm glad that people like him are unknown here in Germany and as far as I know in Europe altogether! Guess, they've died out during the 1970s here!

I can only recommend again: Richard Dawkins The God Dilusion! One of the best books I've ever read in my life!

At least as an adult, he was able to leave, unlike the poor minors who are kept imprisoned in these modern day inquisition camps where they are emotionally battered by sadistic reprogrammers. The poor kids often wind up taking their own lives. I wonder if the heartless parents and their fellow religious zombies see that as further proof of a damned soul.

In Reaching To Heaven, James Van Praagh relates an interesting session he had with the brother and sister of a man who died from AIDS. All 3 had lived with the mother's condemnatory pronouncements about his soul's destination. They listened to their brother's description of Paradise, then asked Van Praagh if that was what Hell was like. He was thunderstruck. Hell, why would he be in Hell? After explaining the truth of REAL, unconditional love to them, there was a great outpouring of tears and the old lady was left isolated with her hate. Ha Ha.
 
Sad endings

These things rarely have a good ending. A dear friend of mine took his life a few years ago because his family rejected him completely when he came out at age 32 due to "faith based" reasons. He was devastated and thought his family loved him enough to accept him. A gunshot to the head. I wonder what the good reverend will do now? The really bad thing is he has not just messed up his life but consider his wife and children.

We unfortunately have dear little doe-eyed Ralph Reed here in Georgia spewing his venom against gays and it is so obvious he is homosexual. His holy rolling "Christian Conservatives" back him like he is a saint for his attacks. Why can these groups never see the person leading the attack is really just in denial about themselves?

This is why I have not set foot in a church of any kind for the last 25 years.
 
Perhaps the good reverend should point said gun to his head and yank that trigger.......would be a fitting end for the damage he has caused to many innocent people who did nothing wrong.
 
NO!

Never wish that of anyone in something like this. That is the easy way out. Facing the issues he will have face with his family the rest of his life will present difficulties of many kinds. Most people would break under the stress.

Has the man actually came out yet? Does anyone know what his plans are? He has just dropped out of the church program as far as I can tell. Don't be surprised at his next announcement. He may be going off to start another church, who knows? He may divorce and be the next Miss America....

If he does come out should the gay community embrace him? I bet they would on the whole but he really is a disgusting person and should not be given any special role. I have serious doubt he would come out. I believe he would live a lie for the rest of his life and make nice with the wife so she doesn't add to the mess he's already in. Married men always find it easier to trick with some gay guy and keep the security of home and benefits of the straight world. They can keep their hell as far as I'm concerned.

The media will let us know I'm sure. At any rate he is paying a high price in his everyday life for what he has done. I do not wish him well nor do I wish him anything bad. He will live in his self made hell for a long time yet to come.
 
The word for a "stubborn" person in Greek is "crooked-wood." To straighten out a bent twig you can soak it in water, straighten it and let it dry. It will appear to be straight for a while. Once it gets re-wet, however, it will go back to its original bent/crooked form. It ain't gonna be able to change its true nature for you, your momma, Jesus/Mohammed/Budha/Moses or anyone else for that matter.
 
Jeff, I do not believe that he will have a foot to stand on if he restarts his anti-gay rant, but if he does, he should be exposed as another self-hating homosexual who it trying to exorcise his personal demons on society at large. There was something on TV last week about a church that got tired of constant anti-gay and anti-abortion sermons and got rid of that minister for one who spoke more about how we are loved with an unending love by our Creator. Anyone who attempts to put a fence between mankind and the Creator and a cut off valve on the love which flows from Heaven then uses that message of hate and intolerance to raise money in the name of the Lord is the real pervert. Unfortunately, it is easier to unite people by whipping up hate against others than it is to exhort them to love others.
