Not knowing where to put this so if this isn't the proper forum please shift Mr. Webmaster.

Thought it would be nice to start a separate thread bout laundormats, wash houses and their equipment. This came to me from the "Lessiveuse" thread....

Here is a Laundrylux Laundromat here in the States.

While an established player in the commercial and launderette market in Europe, Electrolux isn't that well known by Americans as such. http://laundrylux.com/electrolux-gives-american-twist-to-traditional-french-laundromat/

While both washers and dryers offer some amazing options not usually found (both washer and dryers have an app you can use with smartphone to let you know when loads are done) many mat owners have a thing against "soft mount" units. Some also feel the machines just aren't up to the hard and continuous use of a laundrymat for the long run. http://www.coinlaundry.org/openforu...wthread?GroupId=43&MID=10464&tab=digestviewer

As on the domestic side commercial laundry business has undergone and still is in the throws of consolidation. Closings, mergers and so forth have more and more brand names held by a few large players.

Electrolux-Wascator now just "Electrolux" holds the North American rights to Wascomat. Some professionals feel recent offerings by Wascomat coin laundry side aren't up to previous standards, but opinions vary.

In terms of a score card many North American laundromat owners put Dexter washers on top of their list with ADC for dryers.
