ok, here is a video of the agitation in my 1-18 at the begining of the wash, I siwtch back and fourth between regular and gentle speeds so you all know how it's supposed to sound...

Ok, here is the problematic squeal, it does this after about ten minutes of washing and does it for the remainder of the cycle. However, it doesn't squeal when it spins...
Any ideas on what is squealing?

but I don't hear a squeal; perhaps your hearing is so good you can hear sounds that aren't there--auditory hallucinations

Ya know, I never really saw the whole Deliverance, just the famous "squeal like a pig" part. Now that some crazy rednecks.

I can plainly hear the squeal too (first clip it sounds normal), and I agree with everyone else that it might be a bearing somewhere. When you first uploaded it, I was on the phone with Greg and he thought that it might be the pump. Have you checked the troubleshooting guide yet in the "S" line service manual I gave you?
I can't really find anything on squealing/squeaking type things in the manual you sent Austin, but if it is a bearing, does that mean I need to replace it? Or just oil it? Thanks for your help everyone!!!

Be VERY careful-----just the mention of using oil anywhere near a rollermatic mechanism is an invitation to lots of trouble!

hum the only prob i have ever had is the upper spin brg but that is just like a squeek type thing.. hum also found that the 1-18 and rollermatic dont like flecks of dirt in things..but have to be careful how and with what you use to clean things
