Hello Guys,
Firstly, Happy 2008 to you all.

Here are some better pics of the 1965 Kelvinator i showed earlier. I spent the 2 weeks i had off over Xmas and New Year travelling with my partner to Melbourne Victoria (2 states and 2000 klms or 1242 Miles for you guys) to have a holiday but also pick up the Kelvy in my brand new station wagon that arrived Xmas eve.

We spent 3 lovely hours with the owners of the machine having lunch with them before starting our journey to head back to Brisbane. I also stopped off to view the 2 Simpson Fluid Drives i bought as well.

It was a slightly anxious drive back as there was some flooding on the way back but we made it just before the major floods took hold.

There are 2 links to a couple of video's of the machine agitating and spinning.

Cheers
Leon

Nice Machine!

Was just wondering in Austrailia are the Kelvinators Named "Leonards"? Would be nice to have a "leonard" doing my wash ....

What does that button do??

Hey Toggles and Gary,

That button is the "Out of Balance" reset switch, it will pop up when out of balance and all you are expected to do is push the button down again.

Tim: "Leonard" was another product of Kelvinator here in Oz and also New Zealand.

Jamie: Yes, there is an overflow rinse.

Cheers
Leon

Leonard

Leonard was sold by Kelvinator in the US as well, until the Sixties. They sold enough Leonard refrigerators to be tested by Consumer Reports.

Those are wonderful closeups of the agitator, Leon. I hadn't noticed before that the fins were different.

Thanks!

Thanks Nathan, Nick and Mike!

Yes Nick, it was good to get home when we did, by only a couple of hours before the major floods took hold.

Mike: this machine was in storage for the past 10 years and the hoses will need to be replaced.

By the way Mike, did you check out the thread with the UK designed Wilkins Servis? Here's the link....
