So here is the marriage made in Heaven.  Most have seen the many post by Bud (Atlanta) and the awesome work he is doing.  He made me a complete 1962 Frigidaire agitator to fit in my 1963 Frigidaire Multimatic.   I received the agitator but the transmission is still in Atlanta till I can get over and pick it up.  I saw a YouTube video where another member swapped out a Jetcone for a 63 agitator set up.  Now my agitator has been sitting in a box and covered up and I have been dying to use it.  So after watching the video I got the wild hair to swap out my 1968 Jetcone with my new 1962 setup and play for the day, or two or three...you get the idea.  What follows is my attempt to show off the beautiful work that Bud is doing and show an abbreviated full wash cycle using the 1962 agitator.  I know this might appear as sacrilege to some, but I Love All Things about Washing Machines and I love to have some fun along the way.  Click on the link below and enjoy.

Hey Tommy ......

Post the link of the 4.5 minute video that you did of this same machine with the original Jetcone agitator installed and washing a load of clothes.

Comparing the 2 different agitators in the same machine, why did Frigidaire make the executive decision to go with the Jetcone?? The 3-ring literally "runs circles" around the Jetcone! And doesn't eat up so much space in the tub as the Jetcone does.

BTW, your video skills are pretty darn good for hand-held.

I am happy for you and thank you for sharing.

I don't know that, long-term, the rollermatic mechanism in the 68 could take the strain of moving that agitator for very long. I'm not saying it can't or won't, but as can be seen, the 62 agitator did a whole lot more than the Jetcone and the Jetcone reduced the capacity of the machine by taking up so much space in the tub. The only thing good that can be said of it is that it did not tangle.

The only reason they changed

Was to reduce tangling, the earlier agitator washes many times better, but in doing that it tangles 10 times worse, never bothered me, but women had a terrible time with it.

WOWZERS!!

Thanks for sharing that great video! The clothes really moved in that Frigidaire with that beautiful colorful agitator!

AMAZING!
:o)

Marriage Made in Heaven

Hello to Frigidaire washer enthusiast. It was suggested that I post a short video of my Rollermatic with the Jetcone agitator in place and in action. This is a good comparison of the Jetcone and the 1962 agitator. My personal opinion is that there is no comparison. I would like to hear you comments, suggestions and comparisons. The link appears below. Thanks Losangesle

The Jetcone performs better with the machine fully loaded or slightly overloaded. Unless, the items are something such as permanent-press sheets with a blend of polyester. Then the Jetcone proceedes to pump them up with air and they spend the whole cycle billowed-up and stationary for the most part.
I have found the Jetcone takes-up enough space, that with a good old Three-Ring installed I can fit one more large bath towel.

The 1-18 also does better with less water.
