I found this fun article in the U.K.'s Daily Mail - it's about what happens when ordinary people attempt to duplicate the DIY results they see in magazines.

The first photo shows a professional attempt at making Cookie Monsters out of cupcakes, chocolate chip cookies and blue icing. The second photo shows what happens in the real world.

There's plenty more, including a Rainbow Cake that looks like it got caught in a cloudburst. If anyone has ever felt bad about not getting the same result seen in a magazine's how-to article, this ought to make them feel better:

That was great. Loved the horse pic with the caption I'm Just Big Boned. That poor snowman cookie came out looking like Jabba The Hutt.

A friend ordered a birthday cake from "Safeways" (like the Gradys) for pick up last Saturday at 1 PM. She called ahead of time, got to the store in plenty of time and by 1, the cake was just coming out of the oven. The bakery frosted the hot cake so all of the frosting melted into the cake except for HAP. She took a picture of the cake and went back the next day and received her 30 something dollar refund. That was a "professional job" and was much worse than some of these. It looks like some of these were not allowed to cool completely either.
