The Seller Speaks

Hey guys,

Thanks for all the interest in my machines. As you've probably heard, I'm having a hard time letting them go. They are just so beautiful to me, but alas...if they find a good home, then I will be happy.

To clear up a few things...

First off, I am not looking for $1,000's of dollars. I'm just hoping for a fair offer and don't want to get lowballed when I'm having such a hard time letting them go.

Also, I am NOT going to attempt to turn these babies on. I'd hate to accidently ruin anything. The dryer was actually hardwired into the socket when they were in the basement, so that's not even an option.

Like I said in the ad, as far as I know, they were working when my great aunt passed, but I don't know anything for sure. From my years of lurking on this message board, I get the impression that many people are kind of handy with vintage machines or are willing to learn, so take the risk and see what happens. Obviously, it's more fun to get a beautiful set like this and have them work perfectly, but they are being sold AS IS...whatever that may be.

As for some inside pics, I know I've told several people I will try to do that, but the set is in an awkward place in the garage (not easy to get to without some moving around of stuff), and I haven't really had the time to do it. I apologize and WILL TRY to get some inside pics added.

Any other questions, please don't hesitate to contact me directly at [email protected].

Oh, and yes, these ARE STILL UP FOR GRABS!

My partner is in Rochester now visiting his elderly mother. I spoke to him about the Frigidaire pair. Unfortunately he can't take the pair home on the plane.
My uncle had a service laundromat in the late 60's that had the identical Frigidaire washers.

YAY!! They went to a club member!

Congrats, and cannot wait to see your pixs!

No, not confused at all------

I looked in(Atlanta) every kind of hardware store, plumbing supply, etc. and could not find those seals anywhere, so if you come across them please pick up a half-dozen of 'em for me and I'll send you a check.

YAY Jed!

You are going to have a fantastic collection in no time.

What great machines to start out with and of course your 806 is tops in my book too.

So what is YouCrate charging these days with gas prices and all? I'm just curious if they've had to raise their rates.

Can't wait to see these once you get them.

Congrats, Jed! They look very well cared-for. Hopefully the owner is right and they'll be almost ready-to-use when they arrive. Looking forward to more pics of the pair once they're safe at home.

I wasn't paying attention and thought they were in Rochester, MN. I see they're in NY! Are you driving out to get them or having them shipped?

Have a safe trip, Jed.

Your last entry makes me a little nervous. I've been screwed twice by sellers who changed their mind after I drove numerous hours for an appliance. One jacked up the price by $100.00, but since I drove 6 hours, I paid the difference. On the other occasion, I drove 10 hours but the person had a better offer, sold the pair before I arrived and simply said "too bad, so sue me." I hope that this doesn't happen to you. Good luck!
