The GE lives!

Thanks to those who helped on my hunting for a 1936 GE refrigerator manual. I started rewiring this machine because the original wiring was rubber and in an unsafe condition. Being a moron, I didn't make a copy of the relay wiring diagram when I started running new leads and thought I broke the machine when it would start but not run.

AW member Travis found his shop manual and dug it out for me. One phone call later we were both scratching our heads, and as of 3:05am I have a refrigerator which is pleasantly purring in my garage.

So everybody, enjoy my new nightlight, and Mr. Travis, sir, you rule!

That's a beautiful fridge!

My dead '39 Westy has been sold to a guy who will restore it, and I have a guy looking for a similar sized replacement. These old fridges are great for keeping drinks cold and don't use a lot of energy to do it.

Enjoy the GE. It should provide you with many years of cooling satisfaction!

Thanks MiHi, it was $20 on Craigslist. So far I'm in it about $10 in wiring.
