From the 1958/1959 tv series, a UK ITV/ITC concoction, which has some Transatlantic elements to appeal to US viewers.

The dishwasher is the top-loader type, with removable circular baskets.

Dishwasher appears at 11:07 to 12:40. It's plugged into the old round-pin 240v 15amp socket too.

I think it looks like a Kenwood machine.

It’s branded dishmaster

I think this is dishmaster before it become Kenwood I’ve got this model. But it needs a new impeller it’s semi automatic. Mechanical non electric timer. Has built in pre heat tank on some models. Isn’t mummy lucky a mansion a hillman minx and a dishmaster. 1960s middle class personified lol

I am not sure what the arrangement was between Kenwood and Dishmaster as I have an instruction book which makes no mention of Kenwood at all - I think they also sold the waste disposer (not dispenser as Eamon Andrews who is doing the commentary in the clip below says).

As Richard says there were four models one semi automatic one fully automatic each with or without heaters, I also have a brochure for a commercial version although it looks no different to the regular version and could hardly have been any faster. I wonder what the third switch was for ....

In the initial video posted I think the "baddies" had a Singer Vogue so, along with the Hillman, there may have been a bit of product placement from the Rootes group. i would have said the Dishmaster would also have been product placement, why ever else would it be there?

"I wonder what the third switch was for..."

The dishwasher and the sink-disposer both have their switches built into the fixed facias.

But the third switch seems to be on a drawer front...
Maybe it's not a switch at all. Perhaps it is a lock to keep little fingers away from sharp knives?

could it be

for an under counter water heater, I know the dishmaster could come with a heater tank, but maybe the complete unit would have a separate heater to provide hot water for the sink and the dishwasher, rather than having the dishwasher with a heater and rely on the house supply for the taps. Mind you, any household who could afford this electric sink unit would surely have piped hot water, and looking beside the unit there is two pipes and a drainage pipe so looks like this installation has piped hot water too.
