fascinating
Thanks for sharing, Joe! The two videos really showed the brilliance of Edwin Land and the rise and fall of his legacy, the Polaroid Company.
Yes, agreed Land was a man of vision. He believed photography should be available at every moment, of ones life. And indeed his vision had come true with today's phones.
Eastman Kodak was the king of chemical photography. I remember when Kodak used to sponsor "The Wonderful World of Disney." and was everywhere with their little booths at Disney World and Disneyland. Disney and Kodak were joined at the hip for decades. It was always fun to see Kodak's latest products, in their ads. The Carousel slide projector, their 8mm movie system, then the Super 8 and then the evolution into the Super 8 sound system
Agreed that Edwin Land and Eastman Kodak made an indelible mark in our societies. Eastman Corporation also ran our Uranium separation plants (and very effectively) here in Oak Ridge, Tennessee during WWII. A very diversified company
