Instructions....
Hi:
Here are some instructions I picked up from a vacuum cleaner discussion group post- I have not yet used them myself, but I had them filed away in case I ever needed them. Hopefully they'll help you. Straight ammonia and patience usually work wonders on fan blades:
"To take off the top trim cover, slide the blower door open, and remove the 2
metal phillips screws. There are 2 more phillips screws near the rear of
the top trim cover: 1 near the carrying handle, and the other one is toward
the rear of the cover. After removing those 4 screws, then the top cover
will come off. Next, remove the 2 phillips screws on the top of the
machine, which are located on the cordwinder. After removing those 2
screws, then turn the machine over, and remove the one phillips screw on the
bottom part of the cordwinder. You will need to slide the clear plastic tube
that's attached to a little tab that sticks out of the top of the cordwinder
off. To remove the cordwinder, I sometimes have to tap it with a rubber
mallet. When you have removed the cordwinder assembly, disconnect the wires
from the tabs. To Get to the Motor Unit--You will need a long extension to
attach to your socket set. There are 4 nuts--2 on the top and 2 on the
bottom part of the motor cover, the socket size you will need is an 11/32.
You may need to use a trouble light in order to see inside of the machine to
see the nuts. After you have loosened the nuts, you will be able to pull
the motor cover out. You will notice there is two wires fastened together
by a plastic rounded tab, and to pull that apart, just spread apart the one
end with the little tabs, and it will pop loose. The motor can now be
removed, for dis-assembly."
