As my full time employment transitions to full time indigence, I have begun staying up later. Several times now I found myself watching Perry Mason in front of the computer as the witching hour approaches. A few months ago I was lurking on the Imperial forum, when I over backed the back button and noticed the Picture of the Day had changed with a few views. Subsequent research showed the transition to be the stroke of midnight PST. I also noticed the views seemed to occur simultaneously. It has now become a challenge win the opening salutation. I am just curious who and how many I am competing with.
On a personal note, my semi-retirement’s given me more time for my toys. I have driven the 55 Packard, parked in 01, the 62 Mercedes, also parked in 01, the 86 Chevy Flat bed, parked in 99, and today, the 57 Cadillac, parked in 91, the ¼ mile to my local pub and returned intact. The three remaining, 72 Jag XJ6, parked in 01, 65 Jag 3.8S parked in 97, and the 53 Packard Ambulance, parked in 87 will be delt with next. The 86 XJS convert is at my son’s and is out of sight so out of mind.
As I run the gauntlets ($) of AAA, Ca DMV, JC Taylor collectible car insurance and ARCO a nice gas powered Maytag becomes a lot more appealing.
