The Gallery of Regrettable Food

This fella's writing and sense of humor always hits my funny bone. Did you read Lilek's The Gallery of Regrettable Food? I'm sure hope y'all have. I cried and couldn't speak while reading it - I was laughing so hard. It was shocking to me that I had most of the cookbooks he parodied in his book.

Damn, and here I thought the Rinso saga would be the story of my life. Actually, it's a good thing it wasn't or it would just put everyone to sleep. Fuuny comics! I loved them.

Anybody here an old Rinso fan? It's all my grandmother used to use, as it was 99 cents for a giant size box. She used to keep the box laying down sideways on the top of the Maytag console. Best stuff in the world, I can still smell that clean fresh fragrance. Oh, the good old days!

My mom used Mrs. Stewart's Bluing instead of Rinso. (FWIW, the picture of the stern granny on the bottle is really the mother-in-law of the printer who made the labels.)

I still remember listening to soap operas on the radio and hearing Rinso ads. I think one of the programs was Stella Dallas, and yes, I really AM that old.

Rinso

I found TONS of Rinso at the 99 cent store yesterday. Different flavors as well.

Also found Mexican Mr. Clean Laundry detergent.

Will have to scan it and bring it for show n tell.
