Can someone help diagnose these problems the machine is having without seeing it? Leaking oil and tub sticking.... what could be the problem? I am looking to start collecting appliances, and need to take a vacation. I figure a road trip to Oregon would be warranted if I could get these things in tip-top shape once I get them home.
Hi Tex, if they see oil underneath the machine and the tub sticks, there is a chance that water got down into the centerpost and dribbled into the tranny. This has rusted the centerpost spin bearings and is displacing the oil with water inside the transmission. While it could certainly be fixed, I've done it on three machines now, but its not a quick job.
Go for it - this would make a great set to start a collection with, the color is outstanding and you'll still be able to get parts for this washer so do it while you can!
As I was looking at the pictures... it seems as if the washer is missing some markings the dryer has. Is one BOL and the other MOL or TOL? Is that so bad?
Lady Kenmore is the designation for the top-of-the-line model in several classes of Kenmore appliances -- washers, dryers, dishwashers. There was even a Lady Kenmore vacuum at one point. The name was phased out due to marketing concerns.
Jon,
How the heck did you come back?
Thanks so much for the pictures Jon. It is so obvious that you had a wonderful time. Everything there is so wonderful!
And again Mike, I had no idea that you had such an amazing collection! I am just stunned at the machines you have.
Humm....a convention sometimes?
Thanks Jon, and Mike for such wonderful pictures of your visit!
