I've watched this YouTube video more than a few times.

Our current front loader, a Kenmore Elite made by LG (the ones with the silver square in the front door) is juuuust out of warranty and wouldn't you know it, it's starting to make a grinding noise. I'm exploring the idea of grabbing up a used commercial machine like the one in that video. My knowledge of those beasts is limited; I would need to find one that runs on single phase 240 and has a wastewater pump (apparently some just use a gravity drain). Other than that though, it seems do-able. Does anyone in the forums here have a commercial machine at home and if so, how do you like it?

There are various fast-spinning soft-mount commercial options - ADC (American Dryer Corp?) makes a range of them, there's Continental-Girbau (made in Barcelona), Electrolux, the various Alliance brands (Speed Queen/Huebsch/Unimac etc), and Miele if you've got deep pockets. Hard-mount machines aren't a great idea...

You want an On Premises Laundry (OPL) machine, which will answer to most if not all your needs. Rugged and quality build, wastewater pump, etc....

These come in all sorts of flavors but you'll find single phase 240v no problems.

Check eBay, CL and used commercial laundry dealers where you may find units often going at good prices.

You might want to look into Speed Queen especially some of the older models often being sold as government surplus or on CL, eBay, etc..
