What a great era. Ugh. Everything was so ugly, it became awesome!

13.5 gallons of water for the Regular Wash cycle?! That's the amount of water my washing machine uses on a Normal cycle.

I grew up in a small town where the Frigidaire dealership reigned supreme. I saw many of these dishwashers, and they were always rust bombs within a few years.

But back to my traumatized childhood: In a town where it seemed almost every house had a Frigidaire appliance of one sort or another, my parents had to be Sears people. I've never forgiven them, LOL!!

Not trying to offend, but this has to be the first appliance advert/brochure I've seen posted to date with anything else besides beautiful white women!

Knew marketing existed for other segments of the United States population as one saw adverts tailored to such markets in publications such as "Jet" or "Ebony". However one always wondered why there was so little effort it seems otherwise.

Those "Ricki-Ticki" flowers started showing up on VW's of the day by at least 1967, and my sister even had them on her chiffon yellow Earl Sheibed '56 Chevy sedan back then.  However, we need to consider lag time for Madison Avenue. 

 

That ad is probably just barely pre-70's.  From around the time the "Julia" show premiered, starring Diahann Carroll as a stunningly attractive single mom.   That's my theory for the non-white motivation.  The rest is "The Thomas Crown Affair" meets "Love Story."

 

Because love means never having to say "Turn off that damned thing!  I can't hear the TV!"

I'd put this one at about 1968 (give or take a year), based on the graphics, the colors, and the fashion (or lack of it?). The grahics are very similar to "Laugh-In" for those of you old enough to remember that one.

13.5 GALLONS OF WATER PER LOAD

Is actually less water than the new 5 gallon machines use when you consider that nothing had to be pre rinsed. To pre rinse a full load of dishes for the average load many people use more than 20 gallons of water and most people don't use all cold water to do this some even rinse in all hot water. I have watched countless people using dishwashers and I believe the dishwasher is the moist misused and misunderstood major appliance in the home today.

Frigiscare.

I had the Custom Imperial and it did a great job but was real noisy and the door kept going off track and needing replacement from the second week on to the day I replaced it with a newer model that Frigidaire was willing to exchange after numerous replacements of the door.The new model worked better and was not only quieter but the door stayed firm.

Around 1972

The '69 I have still has embossed metal on the trim. The '72 Custom Deluxe I had matches the avocado one in the picture with woodgrain trim and the silver dial.

I think its a 72 because of the "T" designation. I know "T3" was for 1973 with the revised warranty wording.
