Good for you, Nick!
I'm waiting for a perfect storm that will never happen.
1) S/S or heavily coated porcelain cooking grids that are smooth
2) 4 S/S burners and a side burner. Burners must mount to things that won't disintegrate
3) lava rock platform- no "flavorizer" bars
Why?
Lava rock out performs flavorizing bars for utilizing hot/cold spots and provides more flavorizing than bars.
4 burners allows me to indirectly cook up to about 20# of pork for pulled pork, use one burner for a couple of 'dogs, et cetera.
Chromed cooking grids are useless after a year or so and lightly coated cast ones (the rough ones) are almost as bad as they chip and rust when you clean them.
My existing burners are fine, but I've had to rig hangers for the back side of them because they disintegrated from the heat.
Oh well! At least I'm now using my '50's-'60's charcoal grill sometimes!
