The pickle season in Michigan came and went and I didn't get a chance to "put up" my usual batch of bread and butter pickles. It was a crazy summer between recoving from Achilles tendon reattachment surgery to big demands at work, and I just wasn't able to get my pickling on!
When I was finally back up to full speed last month, we noticed bushels of beautiful jalapeno peppers at the farmers market. So we decided to make the bread and butter recipe, but switch the cucumbers out with the jalapenos. When we cracked open the first jar last week were we happy! Sweet and hot! We've been putting them on everything!
