The Thor arrived this morning...but it does need some work. In a few days, Dr. Manny will take the machine for surgery. The machine looks clean, and the prognosis is good that it will be up and running soon.

WOOHOO!!! Congratulations Ross on your dream machine, I know you have been wanting one for quite some time! It will be hard not going out to the garage for the next couple of weeks just to look at it!

How much work will this one need...it looks like it's in very nice shape! Were you and Roger able to remove the tub?

Keep us posted, this is very exciting!

And wasn't the White-Westinghouse TL previously in the Automagic's space? Someone has a lot of 'splaining to do! ;-)

*Ducks and runs*

My dream machine, too, Westy,

since I read about it in Consumer Reports 1947!!!! (Rated highest in washing ability) Good for you. So happy for you. Praise the Lord, etc. Where is the fill spout? Man-oh-man, check out that agitator. Can't wait to see it swish! Why does the metal look so new and well-preserved? What's the story?
Please TELL IT!

Wish Tuscon were right next door; I'd be over in a jiffy.

The tub, et al

No, unfortunately the tub doesn't come out of the Thor. It's cosmetically gorgeous, but has its own set of issues to work through.

The machine agitates only slightly if you push hard on the plunger on the transmission that is tripped by the control cable, and even then, you can stop it with your hand easily, so there is internal transmission work to do, more than likely.

Still, it is a fabulous machine, and I'm so happy for Ross.

Mickey, the fill hose is present but not attached to the machine at the moment.

Austin, the White-Westinghouse is visiting its friends over at Nate and Melissa's, thanks to Ross' kindness--the Faux 1-18 is being dismantled for spare Westy parts, and its pretty control panel will be saved for posterity.

And I'll make a lamp out of that stupid straight-vane agitator (just kidding--but boy, I can't get enough of that ramped-agitator rollover!!) :-P

I spoke to Dr. Manny and he will be picking up the machine after Memorial Day weekend and bring it to his shop. When he brings it back I am sure it will be in tip top shape.
Can't wait.

Ross I am so happy for you!!! I think it is so neat that you finally have your dream machine. It looks to be in such good shape that we can only hope that its problems are not to bad. Have fun and once again CONGRATULATIONS!!! Terry
