I thought about that, but didn't think the phrase "built-in" really did this one justice... for multiple reasons.
Well I suppose it won't be walking around that way. Should be able to handle going into spin a little easier. lol

Maybe there wasn't enough space in either room for the machine so they took advantage of the space in both rooms

I had a house where this would have been a nice solution to move the laundry out of the garage and into the bathroom...I didn't have a great deal of width in the room and the cabinet/counter was tapered a bit; had I recessed the w/d backwards into the kitchen cabinetry it would have been a good solution.
