I just brought some Tide Washing Machine cleaner to see what it's all about vs the Affresh product.

I think I like the Affresh better.

That is WAY too funny - I signed on here specifically to ask about this stuff, and was planning to create my own new thread. I saw this yesterday at my local supermarket and thought it might be good to "de-funkify" two of the machines I have recently returned to service. One smells like musty basement, and the other like stanky well water. I can use them enough to change the smell to a detergent smell, but my clothes would have to go into them! Making a long out of use machine smell like detergent and cleanliness again seems to take 10 or more loads, one at a time.

The package says it's good for top loaders as well as front loaders, so I thought I'd give it a try. My sister's second washer, a 2000 Kenmore DD, wreaked of mildew, and I'm wondering if this will remove that smell? It seems to be more and more common.

What do you all think? I'd love to know.

Set the machine for a full wash cycle with Cold/Cold and once the machine has filled with water dump a container of Snow Bowl in there.

Removes Hard water/detergent deposits.
Removes rust.
Removes that nasty black jelly.
Kills the cooties.

BTW---

You don't want to use Snow Bowl if your machine has a Stainless Steel tub.
I am suggesting its use with porcelain tubs.
Worked wonders in my Bendix Combo.

Kenmore,

I think this stuff should do the job for the TL washer.. I'd crank up the water heater to get the water nice and hot, and then run a cycle with this.
