How does Tide hygienic clean heavy 10x duty compare to free and gentle pods? I have sensitive skin and have been using Tide Free and Gentle for a long time. Clothes are mostly light to moderately soiled. Toughest is getting sweat and odor out of synthetic running shirts. For heavy solid and rags, we use Biz. Top load speed queen AWNE92SPusually run extra latge load setting with singlevpod and extra rinse.

My inclination would be to stick with the pods and use warm or hot water to get everything to the level of cleanliness you want.

And I'd also consider getting cotton running clothes.

Lastly, you might consider a front loader as your next machine. They clean better, use less water.

I’m getting great results with Tide 10X pods in temp-regulated warm (105F-110F), soft water. The 10X pods are noticeably larger than standard Tide pods. The cocktail of enzymes in these new detergents removes stains much better in warm rather than hot (140F) water.

I have a 2017 9-Series Speed Queen top-loader.

How are you liking your Speed Queens? You seemed to be changing your machines fairly regularly for a while, so I was wondering when you would try something new.

I miss mine. I gave them to my best friend’s parents when they moved here from a different state into a retirement apartment complex. They are working out well for them, and I’m glad they went to a good home.

Bryan- I really like my 9-Series top-loader, even though I’m a front-loader fan at heart. I’ve been tempted to replace the current pair with LG or Speed Queen front-loaders, but—so far, anyway—have decided not to spend the money to replace a perfectly good set. I always enjoyed getting a new laundry pair every few years, but have become more frugal in my advancing years.

I see the new dryer that pairs with the TR7 washer has a steam feature. Pretty fancy by SQ standards. However, despite a number of enticing features of the TR7 washer, am not at all interested in the “agitub” wash system.

I believe a lot of people who spend money on "sensitive" laundry formulas would find their sensitivity goes away with extra rinsing. One of the things I do not like about these pods is that they force you to use the same amount of product regardless of the soil level, water used or load size.
