Is this a washer or a dryer? I'm guessing a dryer. I'm very curuious about the first/earliest mechanical tumble dryers.
Who can offer insights as to design, heat source, mechanics, early sales figures (volume sold) etc.

Actually that appears to be an early Bendix prototype; the first automatic washer.

Charles and Ray (nee Bernice Kaiser) Eames were against applied decoration.
