Top Job cleaner

It is still made. At least, the name is still used. The product is made by Changing Paradigms, LLC in West Chester, Ohio. It doesn't look, smell or perform like the old stuff, but it's still around. I found it at Dollar General Store and was happy to find it until I used it.....

Classic Top Job

Why do these companies mess with a good thing? The original Top Job with ammonia was fabulous on floors! I would love to get my hands on this wonderful all purpose cleaner.

The Top Job found in dollar store is not the same!,awful scent too!!

Market Share, especially

with P&G (Profit & Gain) products. If a brand is considered a consistant underperformer for x quarters, it is cut loose.

Not only does it have to steal from the competition (Unilever et cetera,) it has to steal from other P&G brands in its category.

I'm so glad to hear that others are finding that "Top Job" has disappeared from the stores. OK, now I know that I'm not going crazy....

I got hooked on that stuff when I saw that it was used in a ritzy country club's commercial kitchen. (back in my youth when I was a bar-back, pool-waiter, bus-boy, card room steward there and generally, a personne extrodinaire).

I made more money at the time than my father did. Of course, he did what he did in 40 hours (architect), I did my job working 60 hours per week, but nevertheless, he was annoyed that mine was bigger than his.

Profit and Gains

P&G dropped the Comet cleaning products as well and the new stuff isn't the same. The powdered cleanser works OK but the P&G made was better.

I loved Top Job and miss it!! Venus found a bottle from the 80's at a sale and sent it to me (thanks again!) and I've been using it very sparingly in order to make it last. I found a 70's bottle at a sale but the product inside is no longer good, now it's just for "show."

You know what I miss, that hasn't been around for a while?

Ajax All Purpose Cleaner (Ammonia Fresh)....

They still have it in Europe, but for some reason, I'm not sure I should try to bring in back on a plane lol....

They even have one with a "Marseille Soap" fragrance!!

Why do we get all the "Landfill Fresh"-type junk anyway??

I've used the Spic-N-Span liquid, it has a nice smell (clean smell, not a flowery or bubble-gum smell) and it works well.

After more than a dozen years cleaning homes, business and vacated apartments I believe cleaning results (generally) have more to do with the person pushing the rag than the product ;-)

Top Job was great stuff, so was Comet. My mother used to use both of those products religiously to clean the house (obviously not together) I remember top job cleaning practically anything! she used it almost everywhere. Comet was great for cleaning bathroom fixtures. Just the mere mention of those names brings back memories of the scents of cleaning day when I was young!
