Toxic Assets - NYTimes

A friend sent me this NY Times article (see link) that 'some' were discussing last week. I'm sure those darn Republicans were behind this. How did they trick liberals into creating these assets and how did they tick the NY Times into publishing the story?

I suspect it is simply because the problems are so severe, the consequences too enduring and genuinely, personally threatening for so many of us here, that even most of the conservatives aren't in the mood for your knee-jerk rejection of Democrats and the US Constitution.

What it comes down to, as one of the very fiscally conservative Republicans here wrote to me recently, is very simple - by wishing for Obama to fail, one is perforce desiring the failure of the Union, herself. That washer fan is grinding their teeth and supporting the President. That is real patriotism.

If you want one of our good, old knock-down, drag-out fights with the conservative Queens bashing away with their usual ill-spelled and worse reasoned blather, you are just going to have to wait until things get better.

Until then, I am donating time on-line to help jobless people re-write their resumes to improve their chances in what we laughingly call the 'job-market'.

What are you doing for the good of the country?

Keven....that's a nice thing to do. Where did you come across that? I've been helping some folks in need of financuial "restructuring" but it's turned out to be so incredibly time consuming between work, graduate school, and the dog, that I just can't continue, so that might be something to consider for myself.

Not a problem - I was asked.
Several ex-pats here in Germany are returning to the US, their foreign divisions having been closed by their mother concerns in the US.

I won't write here which government office I work for - but they know me from my seminars and asked if I'd be willing to help.

Glad to I said and, sadly, I have to do, I have more than enough to do.

Go down to your local volunteers center or, failing one, to any church or synagogue and ask what needs doing. They will understand if you only have a few hours occasionally. What is important is not how much you can give, but that you can give at a specific time and date so they can rely on you.
