If anyone might have what I would consider my most sought-after (not only for styling but sentimental value) machine, that being the 1957 GE Filter-Flo with the salmon-colored timer dial and selector levers, would they consider trading for a 1963 Frigidaire pair? The Frigidaire pair is identical to the white pair whose photo was posted the other day by another member. I snagged the pair off of a bargain-trading web site as it had been left behind in a home in Ohio and the new owners just wanted the pair outta there. The man over the phone said, "Oh, the pair is probably about twenty years old," and I could hear his wife yelling, "It's MUCH OLDER THAN THAT!" The dryer is a gas dryer and I have no gas hook-up. Washer seems to work fine as far as the agitation and spin features, but I've not had the opportunity to hook it up to see about the filling operation although I have no reason to suspect there's any trouble.

I credit the 1957 GE Filter-Flo in my maternal grandparents' kitchen in their flat in San Francisco when I was a young'un as being that which got me interested in mechanical gadgets... that, and their 1946 Magnavox radio/phonograph.

Anyway, if anyone believes it would be a fair trade and is interested and either has the GE of which I speak or knows where I can find it on a trade, please beam in.

Thank you -
George

Forgot to mention the Maytag pair

Am going to consign here locally in Fresno this week the harvest gold Maytag pair (1966 styling). Light-up consoles; seems to be the top-of-the-line timer dial model; not the Beverly Hillbillies pushbutton model. Again, gas dryer which I cannot use. Don't really know why I bought the pair because I'm not a big fan of the harvest gold color, but they seemed to be in good shape, aside from the broken glass panel on the washer's console, but I have the replacement panel to go with the set. If anyone is interested in trading, please let me know. Thanks.
