I found this by accident on YouTube. Interesting what they did but I like my see-thru dishwasher designs better considering they had to cut out a bit of the bottom rack. Also you can clearly see everything going on with a modern "lawn sprinkler" style dishwasher unlike the vintage machines which are so powerful you cannot see to the back of the machine when washing...

That was so cool. Thank you for posting Unimatic. I would love a DW with a transparent door. Only issue is that the inside of a dishwasher can get pretty disgusting, especially when it takes a day or so to fill it up and start the cycle. If I recall correctly quite a few years ago there was a DW that had a large window in the door, I don't think it ever caught on. Simon

It's so cool to see what goes on inside.... I think a lot of people would think it's an eyesore...aside from the coolness of it running...you would just have a see through door with nothing but dirty dishes looking back at you waiting for it to be started.. I think I'd totally be able to get past that to be able to see it running... especially since sometimes I wonder what the hell is happening in mine at times when it makes these strange water sounds.... and it's done it from day one...

Best way to describe what I sometimes hear is it sounds like a stuck dishwasher arm just spraying ONE area up against the door and not moving...like a concentrated water sound in one area...only I know nothing is stuck... then it slowly will fade away into the normal sound.

would LOVE to be able to see what is happening when I hear that... it's so weird.

My friend’s mum had a Lyly Bet draining board dishwashers way back in the 70s. It was so cool. There is another post here on AW with the sales brochure from the 70s. I really wanted one and an automatic front load washing machine when I was a kid in the 70s but I had to make do with no dishwasher and a Hoover twin tub. Thanks for the YouTube video, brought back some memories.
