I woke up around 3:30 AM and went to get ready to bord a 5:50 AM transit bus to go into Hilo and pick up some supplies. I waited at the Gym where the bus stop is and was puzzled why the gym was open that early. As the bus arived, one of the employees at the gym asked me if I was headed to Hilo and I said I was and he said he didn't think it would be a good idea since the 8.8 eartquake that hit Chili earlier had caused a tsunami to form and it was due to ;hit Hilo around the time the return bus is scheduled to come back to Honoka'a at around 11AM.I haul assed it home and turned all the floodlights on waking everybody up and as soon as we were all at the office here, all the warning sirons went off.We should be o.k. in Honoka'a since we're a good 1100 feet above sea level. But there is a mile long line of cars and trucks here to fill their propane tanks!!! We usualy sell no more than 400 gal./day.Since 7 AM,we pumped 422 gallons already!!!We have about 900 gallons left.

Gosh!

I hope everyone in the Pacific is OK.
This is just awful. The reports from Chile get worse every single hour and the areas in danger of a Tsunami spread further and further across the Pacific.

We have been pumping propane gas non-stop since 7AM! So far,we have pumped over 800 gallons and there is a line of vehicles stretching from here to the main street. about two city blocks. The gas company is bringing us in another 1100 gallons and will be here by 11. It's now 10:50 AM and the first wave is due to hit in 20 to 30 minutes. They have already shut down all the water supplies for every island but ours. Lets hope that doesn't happen!!Aloha and Mahalo!!I'll keep yall posted!!

Thanks to all of the concerned members!

Everything worked out.We got out lots of food to celebrate the ocasion. The tsunami was a dud and little if any damages were had!We swold over 1,000 gallons of lp gas to boot. That's a record. The most we ever sold in one day was 677.We surpasssed that and then some.Thank god we had enough to fill everybodies tanks. Our team,Al,Martin,John and myself worked feverishly to help everybody including a retired acress who starred in a sitcom in Japan that was their idea of comedy a lot like a Japanese Lucille Ball. She adores me and had to come here to stay because her estate is in a flood area that the tsunami would have and has before completely destroyed. Her crew (two of whom are major body builders) came and took her back. She offered me $100 and I looked at her like Ethel would have looked at Lucy and told her to put it away for another rainy day. She's had me over to work on different things like her estae gas dryer that was never converted from natural gas to lp and it was full of carbon deposits.I had a spare and installed it for her.She had me stay in this awesome treehouse that has some really neat prints and a huge fireplace that is used regularly. great place to visit and be able to meditate or pray.
