What exquisitely beautiful refrigerator/freezers!

You gotta wonder, bottom-mount fridges were popular in the late '50's and early '60's, then they all but disappeared from every manufacturer's line. Then, in the mid-Eighties, they reappear with a vengeance. What happened?

These hamper door models were beautiful refrigerators but I do remember many of them coming in new or near-new for service. The ad does sound "iffy" as far as it working properly. The cold control set on 3 is not a good sign. Frigidaire used the A B C 1 2 3 control for many many years. 1 was the normal operating temperature.

As a teenager I did not do any repairs on refrigeration, but I do remember one of these refrigerators in yellow that I went along with as a helper when it was returned to the customer after service. When we took the refrigerator into the "kind of weird" house, the kitchen had a dirt floor! It was hard and had been swept many times so it was shiny, but it was dirt. I thought that it was very strange to see an expensive Custom Imperial Frigidaire sitting on a dirt floor. The crazy things I remember from when I was young...

Fabulous! Of course I need a right swing door which is never the case 😕 and we are going to have to reconfigure cabinets above to get some room for anything over 63" I think it is. Everything in that house is for very specific sized appliances which are no longer that small. Hence the dilemma with front load washers we're having.
