Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Reminds me of my grandfather's house. Had he not set the gas stovetop on fire frying oysters unattended his would have been all original from '56. Double enclosed oven too. Pink toilets date stamped 1957 in the bowl. All of that had to be removed when he went to the nursing home and I remodeled the kitchen myself. He and grandma had decided during the 70s that painting the cabinets baby blue with pink doors was a good idea.

Here's some pics of the kitchen from the last time it sold. Still my work. The guy who bought it asked dad who had done the kitchen he was so impressed. Dad said "My son."

Hmmm

Vintage 1963 GE is my best guess. Beautiful. But Paul, that dishwasher may be pretty on the outside, but it isn't worthy of you.

The upper rack tines were still cut too low to protect the stems on glasses loaded on the sides from breaking when the user moved the rack in and out of the unit. One of GE's early moves to dumb-down a great product to sub-par level. Still, I wouldn't kick it out of bed if it showed up one night.
