Tyler and Todd’s new kitchen appliances

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

I think you're right. The white looks so much nicer than the previous black. I've never heard of these guys before but moments in when the one said "garburator" I figured they were Canadians LOL. The only thing I would have changed is to put that dishwasher next to the big sink, if it was at all possible, but that's a minor quibble.

Yes Pete, these new appliances brighten up the kitchen very nicely together with the painting they did.

Tyler and Todd have a lot of followers, they started on a trip through the USA after giving up their jobs. They did well with real estate. When covid came along they bought a piece of land where they are now building a big off grid container house. Unfortunately it ran out of hand and therefore they bought the cabin so they had a decent roof over their heads.

The white looks so much nicer

Indeed they are, however white kitchen appliances very hard to find in today's appliance market, for some reason all the major kitchen appliance manufacturers love to push the stainless steel "look", which I find very passee.

Don't get me started about the so-called slate or black stainless steel finishes.

About the only 2 who make high end white kitchen appliances are Haier (GE Cafe) or Whirlpool (KitchenAid).

I was considering getting a fridge like the one shown in the video, but was told by several reputable sources to stay clear of GE because of their main control circuit board failure rates.

That leaves a KitchenAid french door unit, the lesser of 2 evils, though not by much.

Any and all Korean branded appliances are absolutely out of the question...[this post was last edited: 7/16/2024-17:45]

Korean

Most definitely "Samsuck", a pity because all my consumer electronic devices are from them of which I've had good results.

On a side note, if the Japanese were to make inroads into the American appliance landscape, I'd buy a fridge from them in a heartbeat.

I wouldn’t buy any French door bottom freezer refrigerator

Unless you like lots of problems, definitely never get one with an ice dispenser through a door in a bottom freezer model that’s just ridiculous to try to put an icemaker in the refrigerator section of a refrigerator way too much complication. Too many problems.

The best bottom freezer refrigerators are made in the Amana plant in Iowa you can find them under the whirlpool, Maytag, Amana KitchenAid and JennAir names , Be weary of the whirlpool products that are made in Mexico they’re not nearly a sturdy refrigerator.

The next best units are the GE units, by far the worst are the Electrolux products and I agree I wouldn’t even even touch Samsung or LG for a fancy refrigerator.

lots of problems

Sound advice, after all the problems I had with my Whirlpool french door fridge which had water and ice service through the door, I vowed that I would never buy another french door fridge with an ice maker in the fridge section.

To it's credit however, the ice maker was unobtrusively located in the left ceiling section, as opposed to other Whirlpool units whose icemaker took up valuable space in the fridge section

That is why I bought a Bosch 800 series french door fridge which has an honest icemaker in the freezer and dispenses chilled water in the fridge section. It may be inconvenient having to open the freezer to retrieve ice, but every single fridge I've owned, even a GE side by side eventually developed issues with the thru the door ice service.
