link doesn't work and I can't find this dryer on Norfolk Craigslist, but here's another of interest to someone.
And that Kenmore up above--2.5 hours on the timer??? gotta be 120 volts??

Where is our resident Pro All Things Kenmore when you need him? With 2.5 hoours on the timer, would this be a 120 volt machine? I'd be afraid of lots of wear on the clothes if that time was needed, but I'd learn to live with it back when some homes still only had 120.
Gordon knows it all and hopefully will spot this question--

This brings back childhood memories for me.
My best friends growing up had this dryer for ages!!! Their version was Gas! I remember them complaining that it was taking longer and longer to dry and I opened up the bottom and it was filled with lint. I convinced their Dad that it needed to be cleaned out and the vent also needed cleaning. It worked like a champ after the cleaning. Sad part is I think they got rid of it because it was "too old". Sadly nothing was wrong with it. I think they bought a new GE set to replace the W/D.
This family also had a Norge Gas Dishwasher that was built by Preway.

A440 -Brent, how old were you when you convinced your friend's dad to clean the lint filter and vent? What a great story. So did your friend's dad employ you to be Mr. Fixit? LOL! I wonder if they read any manual that came with it? 
I'm not sure when they decided to buy new, but the 60's especially had so many choices of cool looking appliances, with new features and styling, it would be hard to resist buying new.

I think that I was around 12 or 13 during this time. Although I already knew them for years before. The father and I did it together. When he saw the lint around the burner area he freaked out!
I knew just about everyone on several streets and of course what type of appliances they had. (including a/c units, heating, etc.) The housewives loved me. I would know what day and time they would start washing and show up. I would say the majority of them actually liked it. Especially the Widows. I was company to them and they did not mind me helping with chores one bit. Of course also visiting.
My Mother on the other hand did not like it so much. I had to sneak around to do it. Makes me laugh out loud when I think about it.

You sure were a unique kid, Brent! That's pretty funny...I didn't know anyone who even loved doing their laundry...sounds like if you were a little older you could have a business there. Great story.
