Been a bit busy recently.

Indeed - I picked up a machine this very evening, on my way back from work! (Dont ask Rob, cause you will have to wait and see).

First off was a dishwasher from a good few months ago now, but I cant remember whether i posted about.

It was spotted on the other current Hotpoint UK thread, so here are a couple more pictures of it.

Its a Hotpoint 7861 Super De Luxe. Its a wee bit later than Rob stated in the other thread - If i remember rightly its from early 1989 (I know its in the wrong forum, but the other machines are a tad older):

very difficult to get sharp piccies of this machine, as the perspex facia cover plays tricks with and confuses the camera:

Needed a bit of tidying up and there is an annoying blob of something, ruining the Hotpoint branding, under the perspex cover:

and to the inside...

this original set of racks were rusted to the point of disintegration in parts, so they were replaced with this superior set, which are identical:

from the inside of a 7861....

....to the inside of another Hotpoint dishwasher, but this time a virtually unused, absolutely immaculate machine from back in 1983! Can you guess which one it is?

It was actually never used until the week before we got it when the previous owner ran it on its first wash to make sure it still actually worked!

I do believe

Hotpoint dishwashers were made by Bosch in Germany. How they got away with claiming they were made in Britain is beyond me.

Hoover did the same with Zanussi IIRC

That dishwasher does look just like my friend's early 90s Bosch dishwasher. I love it! :D

Yep - Hotpoint dishwashers used to be essentially West German Bosch's.

I think this relationship started with the introduction of the Liberator machines in the mid to late 1970's.

Prior to that - I really dont know who made Hotpoint dishwashers! I have attached a picture of Hotpoints original dishwasher in the form of Model 1814.
Any ideas about this machine or experiences of it would be gratefully received.

Cheers
Paul

Followed by the Liberator machines - models 840, 850, 860 and 870.
These were, i think, the first Bosch machines in Hotpoint garb.

The Silver machines lead me back....

....to the mystery machine.

Now I never knew that Hotpoint did this series of machines.

Replacing the silvers and designed to match the brown 17&18-series laundry products and the 1982 issue New Generations, we have an early brown series machine in the form of the 19950 De Luxe...

The machine was, as Rob says, trialled by its previous owner who inherited it with his newly purchased house.

The machine was there when he moved in and was still covered in its protective plastic films, which he removed to test it. grrrrrr!

All the signs are that the machine was unused until he tested it, in order to sell it.

A quick wipeover produced the following machine...

with the rinse aid replensihment countdown, set to zero.

as the machine completes each full programme, this ticks down...
