I know i made this request before, but it would be pretty neat if someone took a video of what goes on beneath a 1-18 or rollermatic. Have any of you ever done that?

I'd also like to see an under-hood video of the famous belt-drive WP/KM in action. May have to use slow motion, but the mechanism is fascinating to watch.

Oh, you meant in the workings. I don't know if anyone has done that or not. I did get to watch a GE Filter-Flo operate without the back on. It was really something.

As far as filming "Rollermatics" in action----it would work a lot easier with the 1-18's. A zoom lens would be needed with the solid-tub type due to the "Jet-Action" type pulsator. Waaaaay too splashy! You would have to set the camera up 10 feet away----maybe more!

Anyone who wants to bring a camera and do the filming is welcome. I've got both type of machines ready to go!

let me clarify...

When I said "under the hood" I should have specified seeing the actual mechanism operate, how the rollers transfer the motion to an "up and down" action. In the KM world, how the solenoids (wig-wags) engage the cams to shift functions, etc.

That would be sweet.

Are you talking about a video taping of the transmission in action with the shrouds removed? or something.

I did make a video of the inner workings of a Unimatic mechanism with the outer housing removed quite a few years ago. Maybe one of our older members has saved this video as I looked for it but I can't find it.

Very cool video, thanks!! While easy for me to determine in a Rollermatic or 1-18, I had no idea of what exactly drove the agitation on a Unimatic! Much simpler than I thought...

Now how is agitation accomplished on a Pulsamatic/Multimatic?
