UPDATE...
While most of the MT washers are helical with long stroke agitation, there are quite a number of orbital machines mixed in with no particular pattern and are physically indistinguishable from the helical machines. And yes I really did jam a bunch of quarters between the lid and the switch!
Any idea why? I presume, maybe some transmission failures resulted in replacements with newer parts?
