...and my very first attempt at a video movie to boot! I still don't know exactly what I did but it's up on Google nonetheless. It's a little fuzzy but I'll learn. If anyone out there has a pointer or two to shoot my way about making these movies, I'd be most appreciative. ((--::

The load consists of a new king sized sheet. Check out the long spray rinses. I love them but don't think they were always that way and as the timer performs beautifully otherwise, I'm not going to touch it.

This is the first machine I ever worked on and I gutted it completely including taking out the suspension rods.

Bob-The load mistakenly started off on low water level and I raised it to medium shortly after starting the wash.

More vids will be forthcoming once I learn a bit more of what I'm doing. It will be my pleasure. ((--::

Dick, that is a very nice machine. Must be slightly older than Robert's since it does not have a lint filter, and his does.

If I can indulge you at a still later date, I'd love also to see a video of the 1960 Kenmore. I have not seen that machine running in many years.

Dick,

Thanks, that was very enjoyable. I am impressed. What a neat machine.
You asked for suggestions, so here a few:
1) I liked the way you basically kept the camera steady. Long, steady shots are easiest on the eye.
2) Cutting is better than panning unless you are very experienced.
3) Sound is tough, but I would suggest a separate mic. instead of the camera mounted one.
4) Video compression was ok. A two-pass compression after editing would probably have reduced the block-y-ness as would have stronger lighting.
But hey - that is just cause you asked. I like this machine. She has attitude.

Dick, that movie was great. Such a great looking machine, and it sounds wonderful! Just love the end of chime cycle - that is the first time I've heard a Kenmore do that. Do you have any high res pictures of this machine and control panel?

Thanks to all for your comments on the 56 and the tips about the vid. I was thinking that I should have saved the movie in a higher quality format but after reading the responses, I guess I can continue to save them at the same level.

Venus, I believe it spins at 525 rpm.
