I saved the video too, along with all videos from this site as well. I'm going to start saving videos off of youtube as well. I need a good (and hopefully free) video converter to convert from flv to wmv format.

Tuthill, the video is of the White 1957 Lady Kenmore that you can see being restored in the restorations section. The machine came off the Aberdeen farm where it was sitting outside for over 25 years after breaking down. There it was exposed to the rain, snow, sleet, hail,wind, and fall leaves. Animals used it as thier toilet and the machine slowly rusted, rotted, and degraded. Then Unimatic1140 hauled it in and RESTORED IT TO MINT CONDITION! It takes someone special to be able to do that!

Actually that is a different machine in the video. Robert found a never used 1957 Kenmore at a sale. I don't know if it was the Lady, or one model down from it. It looks just like the Pink Lady that as of late, is still out of commission due to a rotted/worn out agitator post. I think the video films it's first load.

Could there be three machines?
All, I really feel weird speaking for Robert here, but I think there may be three machines involved.
If memory serves me, the unused '57 is an 800 or just a step down from a Lady K. Also if memory serves, the Pink Lady Ks were recently used and shown as such at a gathering/wash-in. It's the white '57 lady that may have the rotted centerpost. It looked like it was ailing in the restoration pics, so my guess is this is the one we're talking about.
Please excuse me if I've spoken out of turn or have my facts confused.

I believe he may have changed the color of it from white to pink, perhaps when he found the matching LK dryer.

Not quite, my original 1957 Lady Kenmore from the Abdereen farm which I restored and used for about five years until the pink '57 Lady Kenmore set came along. The farm machine was used for parts to restore the pink Lady Kenmore. Then the centerpost gave way in the Pink '57 LK and it was out of service for about six or nine months. Then brand new 1957 Kenmore 800 came along which I washed about 30 loads in it to throughly make it not really new any more. I took all the brand new parts from the 800 and put them into the pink LK to restore it to brand new condition.

So Robert, you did end up parting out the 800 to refurbish the LK. I guess deep down I knew you would. But I'll bet any amount of money the agitator that came with the 800 is still gleaming new, unused, and stored with other prized washer parts you have amassed.
Glad to hear the Pink Lady is back to her former glory.

Funguy the White Lady Kenmore from the farm was broken down for parts back about 5 years ago when I found the pink LK.
James, if you made that bet you would win. The never used pregnant roto-swirl has never seen water, clothes or detergent touch it and will always stay that way.

Hi! Did I read this correct,you took the brand spanking new machine and parted it out to repair another? The one that still had the packing supports underneath?

The times I have been viewing automatic washer.org, I realize that when restoring vintage appliances, that some other machines have to be sacrificed for their parts. I just hate the thought that the unused 57 had to be a donor machine.
Oh well, you know more about machines than I do, and I respect that. Say,on this website, there is a button called see it wash, where we can watch diffrent machines in action. If the pink 57 LK is back on line, could you make a video of it filling, washing with the waterfall lint filter, draining, and spinning with sound and all, and include it with the other machines in see it wash? If thats the case,then watching the video,which was great is like watching The Dark Knight,Heath Ledger and the 800 are dead,what a shame.

I take comfort in that it will live on in the Pink Lady, which IMO, is 1957's Holy Grail.
