Viking DW????

I just saw on a local home and garden show, the showed the Viking DW. Does anyone in here have one? They said it is $1,400.00 and to me it looks like a renamed ASKO. Let me (us) know....Bill in Az....

IIRC, Viking has long made commercial dishwashers, do not know if they have gone into the domestic area.

The domestic Viking d/w's are Asko built - I think viking just slaps their front and knobs on them.

Yes, think you are correct there, in that the Texas based "Asko" group does the domestic Viking units.

If one wishes to put up with the installation and slight hassle, used "under counter" Viking units appear on eBay often enough.

The repair record from the Viking, GE Monogram and Asko, would make me hesitate before spending $1,400 for two clunky, institutional control knobs.

That is true...Asko dishwashers have always been either the least reliable or close to it in each consecutive CR dishwasher report.

For less than half of the Viking's price, you can get a nice MOL Bosch.
