Maytag is single speed with suds saver. Maybe 208S? Andy, any guess on the model? From water level switch maybe regular capacity.
I think the minty Whirlpool DD washer, being an XS model, was made before WP had their version of the Dual-Action agitator. Those I believe were XT models?

The Maytag is the ad is an A107S. Things to note, this machine has chrome trim so it's not a 106. The "Automatic" badge was only worn by 1-speed machines, and there were only 3 that wore it, and those were the 106, 306 and 406 (and later variants). The A107 has Delicate (Red), Perm. Press. (Blue) and the Regular (Black) cycle. the 5 buttons on the left are COLD, WARM, HOT, SAVE SUDS and DRAIN SUDS. There is also a corresponding section on the timer for suds.
The 206/207/208 are 2-speed machines, single speed machines were the 106, 306, and the 406 ( and subsequent revisions). The 206 and 606 simply had speed buttons where the 1-speed machines had the "AUTOMATIC" insert, the cutout is for the speed switch. The A407, while a 1-speed machine was unique in that instead of having cycles on the timer, it use a modifier control switch that filled the slot to the rightof the timer. These are always identifiable by 3 buttons that read "Perm. Press, Regular and Delicate" each of these switches makes the machine do different things along the one wash cycle on the timer. The 806 machines had separate wash and spin combinations (4-buttons) and the buttons on the control panel were arranged differently.
I would think this machine in the ad is fairly rare (if it weren't Minneapolis, geezz is everything a suds saver up there?) being such a low end suds model. the A107 is just a touch classier than the no-chrome 106, it added chrome escutcheon, and the "delicate" cycle in red on the timer.
John, the early big-tub machines only utilized 3-water levels, but I'm not sure when they went to 4, so this could have been an early 406 if weren't for the cycles on the timer.

$20.00 for those Whirlpools, what a bargain! Dinner at Denny's (my idea of fine dining) will set you back for around the same.

Oh John, I just need someone to teach me the ways of belt-drives. I love listening to you and Gordon go on about the facets of WP & KM machines.
I love all of the information that is shared. I've learned a lot about Maytags, and one of my favorite things to do is share that information. Hopefully soon I will start absorbing knowledge of other stuff to share as well!

That DD washer is a great one as well, a true work horse that will wash well for years and years and years and ask very little in return.
