Hello Everyone!

I'm the new guy to the site, and I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find some vintage detergents. I would really like to find some 1980's Oxydol and Final Touch Fabric Softener. Anyone know where I should begin?

Ebay is a good place,

but so are estate/garage sales in older neighbourhoods.

On Ebay, you'll pay. At an estate sale, they're (usually) eager to unload the items, and may make you a great price.

Also, try the hardware stores in the inner city.

Get the Thursday newspaper, and go to the classifieds.

Tip o' the hat to a fellow Texan!

Howdy and Welcome to another fellow Texan! Gee....this Texas contingent gets bigger every day!!

I agree with Lawrence (Maytagbear); estate sales are great for vintage cleaners. I have found some great stuff by looking under kitchen cabinets and in laundry rooms and garages. I do have my limits though...I passed on a 2 year old plus sack of flour - YUK! LOL

Some of our small-town general stores may also have some vintage-type detergents as well. If it's phosphates you're looking for, try Ariel OxyAzul, Roma, and Foca. These are manufactured in Mexico and contain phosphates. I have been purchasing these at the local "tiendas", and they are even carrying Foca at Dollar general ($3.00 for a big ol' bag). I really love them. They are cheap and get clothes really clean (like mom used to do)!

Good luck finding some good stuff!

Thanks for the help and the nice welcome. I found this site just before the Convention, and unfortunately it was too short-notice for me to attend. I hope that there may be some "mini-conventions" around the US or even Texas, since there are so many people with awesome collections!
